“I’m choosing happiness over suffering, I know I am. I’m making space for the unknown future to fill up my life with yet-to-come surprises.”
– Elizabeth Gilbert | Eat, Pray, Love –
Happy Monday! The first Monday of a new year is always the best one of the entire year in my opinion… fresh beginnings all around!
Like so many others, I look forward to stepping into a new year refreshed & ready to conquer everything that is to come. Unfortunately, 2014 began in quite the opposite way. Thanks to a healthy dose of the flu, I have since spent the past seven days battling it by way of every remedy possible (hello there, green juices, apple cider vinegar, organic oregano & essential oils, hot ginger tea, crushed garlic with raw honey & homemade chicken soup).
What a way to start off a new year, huh?
I’m a strong believer that the first few days of a new year really shape what is to come in the following 365 days… and, despite “the plague of the flu”, I love that the first few days of twenty-fourteen were marked by lots of solitude, reading, journaling, & prayer. All of these things are disciplines I had included in my personal goals for the year & by way of twisted fate, the flu forced me to waste no time in implementing these goals!
2013 was one crazy-exciting year of growth for the Britts & I can hardly wait to see what unfolds in 2014. I am SO thrilled to be working with several beautiful brides & clients this year & looking forward to turning some long-term dreams into a reality.
I hope your new year is off the best beginning – I’ll be back later this week to share a Chapel Hill Engagement session!
